Nordex leads ranking of German onshore wind installations in 2024
Enercon and Vestas follow second and third in a ranking of commissioned turbines on land, with GE Vernova and Siemens Gamesa in distant fourth and fifth place
Nordex last year led the ranking of installed and commissioned German onshore wind turbines, followed by Enercon and Vestas.
A total of 196 Nordex turbines were installed with a combined capacity of 1.06GW, according to preliminary figures by the German Onshore wind Energy Agency (Fachagentur Windenergie an Land) that are mainly based on a government market data register.
“Our market leadership once again demonstrates that our technology is ideally suited to the German market,” said Karsten Brüggemann, vice president region central at Nordex.
“Accordingly, we also expect to see a large number of new installations and a strong order intake in the German market in 2025.”
Enercon came in second in the ranking, with 207 turbines installed with a combined capacity of 957MW, representing 29.4% of the German onshore market. Vestas followed, with a combined 903MW in commissioned turbines, or 27.8% of the market.
GE Vernova and Siemens Gamesa were in a distant fourth and fifth place, with 6.1% and 2.6% of the market respectively.
