Martin Russo, a senior executive at Orsted, is joining Norwegian engineering group Aker Solutions to lead its offshore wind push.

Russo will join Aker Solutions as senior vice president for offshore wind based at their headquarters in Fornebu, Norway next week.

Russo left Orsted after almost two decades, having joined as a project manager in 2007 back when it was known as Dong Energy. He was appointed as vice president in 2022.

Before Orsted, Russo spent over five years at Danish consultancy Ramboll as a lead engineer and project manager.

Writing on LinkedIn today, Russo said the focus in his new role will be “shaping the strategic direction of Aker Solutions’ offshore wind portfolio, overseeing a robust pipeline of projects and FEEDs, and fostering partnerships to strengthen the company’s position in this dynamic and competitive market.”

Henrik Inadomi, executive vice president for new energies at Aker, hailed Russo’s “extensive experience in offshore wind and his innovative approach to renewable energy projects.”

“We are confident that Martin will play a key role in driving our offshore wind initiatives forward and helping us achieve our ambitious goals.”
