Germany and Canada push Nordex wind turbine order intake higher
Orders in nine months already reach 6.7GW and CEO Blanco is 'confident' positive trend will continue in last quarter of 2025
Nordex wind turbine orders surged by about 26% to 2.2GW in the third quarter of 2025, driven by strong demand in Europe and North America.
For the first nine months of the year, orders jumped to 6.7GW, a 31% increase.
The average sales price (ASP) slightly rose in the third quarter to €0.93m ($1.08m) per MW compared to €0.92m/MW a year earlier. For the nine-month period, the ASP went up to €0.92m/MWh from €0.9m/MWh in the first nine months of 2024.
“After reporting strong order intake of over 2GW in each of the first two quarters of this year, the third quarter continued this very encouraging momentum, bringing total order intake to around 6.7GW for the first nine months,” CEO José Luis Blanco said.
“This represents a strong performance and a year-on-year increase of more than 31%. We continue to remain very confident in our ability to sustain this positive trajectory also in the fourth quarter.”
Customers between July and September 2025 ordered 362 wind turbines for projects in 16 countries, with most projects coming from Europe, primarily Germany, and North America, particularly Canada.
That orders continue to come in strongly was shown yesterday, when Nordex announced a 236MW order by an undisclosed client in North America. The OEM there will supply and install its N163 turbines equipped with an anti-icing system for rotor blades, which ensures high availability and minimises ice-related downtimes during harsh winters.
